The Banjo Burke Memorial Fund has established the Banjo Burke Memorial Scholarship Program, giving scholarships to the Catskills Irish Arts Week in July in East Durham. See http://joebanjoburke.org for details. Representatives of the Banjo Burke Memorial Fund will be on-site at the fleadh, answering questions, handing out applications, conducting auditions, and available to assist all interested scholarship applicants. Look for them in the vendor area in the cafeteria. On Saturday night there will be a great session in the fleadh hotel led by box legend Joe Madden and his great friend and fellow legend, Mike Rafferty on flute. Bring your instruments and come sit in with these great musicians. But if its dancing you're after for your Saturday night fun, you won't do better than to get yourself over to the Fleadh Ceili, which is featuring music by the All-Ireland Senior Céilí Band champions for 2007 the Allow Céilí Band. This will be a great night that will be remembered for years. Spectators are welcome, and indeed encouraged. Come out to hear some great music, and meet famous and soon to be famous musicians. So, come on down and join in the competition, or cheer on your friends and neighbors.
